Ph.D. Engineering

Ph.D. Economics

I am an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Ursinus College, in the beautiful location of Collegeville, PA.

From 2006-2014, I was a professor of Mathematical Statistics at two top schools in Venezuela: Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB), and at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA). I finished my first Ph.D. in Engineering in 2013 at USB.

While I love teaching and developing statistical methods as part of my research, the economic tragedies of my home country motivated me to also study economics.

From 2006-2019, I attended Florida State University and finished a second Ph.D. in economics. I worked with Dr. James Gwartney who developed the Economic Freedom of the World Index and has done significant work to connect the role of institutions to economic development.

My areas of interest include Statistics, Economic Development, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Political Economy, Risk-Management and Insurance, and Econometrics.
